Everybody on this planet loves music. But have you ever wondered how it all started? How it makes everyone around happy? How music evolved and became what it is today? Well I’ll give you the answer: Music started a long time ago in the Stone Age. It entertains people in many different ways, and over time many people modified music and it became what it is today. But if you are like me, then look down and start reading. I’m sure that if you start, you won’t stop until you reach the last full stop.

The Tunes of the Stone Age

Music started in the Stone Age when the birds chirped and the wolves howled. Back in the Stone Age, only nature knew the secret of music. The cavemen then realized all the chirps and the howls formed a tune, and they started inventing their own styles of music. We can find cave paintings that show people dancing. This serves as evidence that people in the Stone Age entertained themselves with music. They also made their own instruments which they used to make music. Here are a few of the instruments they used. The first types of instruments were xylophone, which was made by a few sticks lined up in a row, and it was hit with another stick. The “twang” of the caveman’s bow later led to the invention of the harp. Archeologists have also discovered the Paleolithic bone flute which was made over 20,000 years ago, bone pipes, bull rollers, mammoth ivory flutes and a Neanderthal hyoid bone which was made over 60,000 years ago. Many people say that “the way music started” was truly magical.

The Magic of its Entertainment

Music is an entertaining form of art.it also helps people relax when they are stressed. It has many different styles and all of them entertain us in many different ways. Music entertains us in many different times. Music entertains us when we are sad. Music always helps you think positive, that’s why you see happy and smiling faces near music. Many people say “If you make a new born baby listen to music, it will help create a positive attitude for the baby”. There is no difference between the way music entertained the cave men and the way music entertains us now. Some styles of music calm us down, some other styles make us jovial/ joyful and the other styles make us excited. Here is a fun fact: Playing the piano equals to write equals to writing a book with the right hand, writing a book with the right hand, writing a book with the left hand, and reading a story book. Many people have a DJ at their parties because it makes the parties more exciting. Without music the world will be unhappy, dull and grouchy. Music has brightened all our lives and it has filled our world with happiness.

The Evolution of Music

As years passed, music kept changing. It transformed into more advanced styles and had more advanced instruments. I will take you through the process of evolution of music: - in the Stone Age, people of different clans would come together at one place. Then, whoever wanted to sing or dance will go and stand in front of everyone and entertain them while they clapped and made the rhythm. Similarly, in the time of Greeks, all the people would go to an amphitheater called “Orchestra” to watch a few people enact a play. Right after the Stone Age in India, a group of people came together to form/create two other styles of music: - Carnatic and Hindustani music. In the time after Jesus, people started singing songs about his miracles. These songs were called “hymns”. A few hundred years later, all the different countries chose their own styles of music. Then by the seventeenth century, the orchestra developed and it had more instruments.
