Introduction
Comics
are hilarious, colourful and anything you want them to be! Who made comics? How
did they become what they are today? The history of comics is an amazing topic
that I will you about. In this article you will understand importance of; Early
comics, Types of comics, paneling and speech, Comics vs. Animations and Comics
seen today.
Chapter 1 - Early
Comics
Even
though comics aren’t well known, they are one of the best art forms….but who
made the first comic??
The First Comic
Comics
can be traced back thousands of years back. Some evidences of comics can be
traced back to Egyptian hieroglyphs and also the Bayex tapestry! Many people
say that the Glasgow looking glass
published in 1828 was the first comic.

These
comics were some of the comics which inspired the ones we read today. They play
a key role for new comics.
Chapter 2 - Types
of Comics
When
someone starts a comic, they get confused because they don’t know which genre
their comic should be!
Geners
Some
main genres of comics are;

Superhero
– An Individual who has special powers and by using them, saves civilians while
protecting his/her identity
·
A
comic with people or mystical objects that don’t exist – Fantasy
·
Horror
– Bone chilling tales of murder or hauntings
Manga
Many
people get confused with manga and comics. Comics can be drawn in any style but
manga follows a particular style – some genres of Manga are - Shoen – Initially Shoen and Sojo were the
first genres. Shoen for toddler, tweens and teenage boys, whereas Sojo is for
toddler, tweens and teenage girls.
Chapter 3 –
Panelling and Speech
Since
comics are so unique, time to see what makes them unique!
Effect of paneling
Panelling
is highly important for any comic because it sets the mood. Some people use
plain panels while others use more creative ones.
Why is Speech Important
Speech,
without speech, comics would be plain and boring. Speech decides how your
character talks, Loud, Soft, Accented, Whispering, Anything!
Chapter 4 –
Comics vs. Animation
If
you think Comics and Animations are technically the same, then read about their
differences.
Comics
Comics
are a way an author can express him/herself by making a series of scenes that
link to tell a story to tell a funny, angry series of a silly story.
Animations
Animations
on the other hand are drawings that move. Things are animated by making frames,
drawing in them and playing those as a video.

Since
the early comics have inspired many, many comic artists. Lets see the most seen

Adventure comics have been living on forever due to their storylines.
Lastly,
Realistic comics, these were thought to be boring but surprisingly, these are
extremely hard to put down!
